Whimsical Designs for The Wall, Table even Fido....
Who says designs can't be beautiful and amusing at the same time? Don't miss our PET BEDS pattern "Pieceful Pet Beds," which our dog and cat lovers have been nuts over. (C'mon-- you know your pet deserves one of these.) The larger bed is stuffed with a standard size pillow-- I used down in the model-- and it is luxurious! For smaller whimsical wall projects see our shoe quilts pattern "Heel Of Fortune" which includes a gorgeous throw pillow design, "Table Turtles,"( a new table runner pattern that even a guy would like....) and a great quilter's banner, "Quilts In Progress." which is perfect for the sewing room or as an outside banner when the ladies are coming over to sew."
As a quilter, I loved doing things for my walls in my home. I would go to visit other quilter's houses and see quilts in every room-- what a rich, warm asset to any living space. But when I made this next quilt my kids thought I'd gone over the edge. 'Oh mom...' they said with fallen faces, shaking their heads" I tried to explain that quilters have a marvelous sense of humor-- luckily I was right...." "We're On A Roll," an applique toilet paper roll wall hanging has been a best-seller for years and still gets a laugh when someone first sees it. (And it invariably inspires the discussion of the right and wrong way to insert a roll on the holder....)
Smaller Projects With Big Appeal....
Sometimes its fun to do a smaller project between quilts that still incorporates your quilting skills. BUT SOMETHING USEFUL-- WITH A FUNCTION! "Just In Cases" our really cute, glasses cases patterns, (frog, turtle and butterfly included) is so appealing to adults, though it looks like something a child would just love. And "Pocket Cetera," our custom-fitted cell-phone and name badge holder pattern is both stylish and practical--with really thoughtful design elements.
New this spring also is our "Bag Lady" pattern, which is a simpler doll pattern of (you guessed it) a bag lady, who holds bags for your sewing tools and even your sewing scraps. She's pretty fun and a clever, useful addition to your sewing table-- check her out.
Wearables--Beautiful Designs To Put On!
"I once told my kids that when I pass from this life, I want to be laid to rest wrapped in my batiks! But until then I decided to wear some of them in vest designs.' The vest is definately back as a fashion item in 2008, and the "Batik Vest," has been a best-seller since it's introduction-- teachers love this pattern with it's clever incorporation of five fabrics-- batiks/and or prints. The "3-Method Vest" pattern and "Blouse de Batik" are also wonderful ways to incorporate those gorgeous batiks into a wearable.
